OpenWRT is an open source wireless router software based-on Linux system. As with the rest of other Unix systems, it supports ext2/3/4 file system. Transferring files between different file system is not an issue as long as an SFTP server is installed on OpenWRT and SFTP client is installed on your desktop computer. However, recently, I found a better way to drag-n-drop or copy-n-paste files on the OpenWRT file system mounted as a remote drive on my Mac through OSXFUSE and SSHFS. Read on if you want to know how to do it. This guide should also work on any Linux/Unix other than OpenWRT.
I ran into a minor issue when trying to program NuTiny-EVB-Nano130 on Mac OS X. I don’t use native Windows on my machine, so Virtualbox is the only way to run Keil on it. The very first time I plugged in NuTiny-EVB-Nano130 into the USB port, I could not plug the ICE debugger as Virtualbox’s USB device. AppleUSBCDC seemed holding and enumerated the board on the host, so it was grayed out on guest OS. The solution was to put device filter on Virtualbox (details follow).
I just got a Nuvoton NuTiny-EVB-Nano130 powered by the ARM Cortex-M0 core runs up to 42 MHz. The Nano130 series on-board (NANO130KE3BN) integrates LCD Controller 4x40 & 6x38 COM/SEG, USB 2.0 FS, Real Time Counter (RTC) , 12-bit SAR ADC, 12-bit DAC, UART, SPI, I²C, I²S, PWM/Capture, ISO-7816-3, Watchdog Timer, Brown-out Detector, and fast wake-up via many interfaces, and supports 96-bit Unique ID and 128-bit Unique Customer ID. I wanted to get my hands on it quickly, so I decided to try it with Keil LCD_Demo
project example.
You might want to read Part 1 before continuing. If you reach this page, meaning that you don’t have backdoor telnet available, or for some reason telnetenable
doesn’t work on your WGR614v10, or you want to experiment further with your router. There is possibility (not tested) that you can also flash WGR614v10 firmware onto WNR1000v3. You might be able to go back and forth between both firmware versions. Everything is possible, all you need to do is try!
Our SOHO DSL internet connection is pretty stable, PPPoE through Netgear WGR614v10, covering almost 200 square meters of the area with concrete walls. Everyone was happy, no connection dropping, until recently. I needed to share the internet connection over Wifi to another wireless router, but it didn’t work no matter what. When I swapped both routers, it worked. But that is not the point. The point is, no matter what router installed as internet gateway, it should be able to share its internet connection. So I guess, it is time for this WGR614v10 to get a firmware upgrade.
I wanted to flash WGR614v10 with OpenWrt. Unfortunately, it is not yet supported, maybe next time. But I found an intriguing blog posts, here and here, saying that WGR614v10 can be updated with WNR1000v3 firmware. Interesting! </div> </div> </div> </div>
